Did you know...?

There were many notable figures aboard the RMS Titanic. People of all types – rich and poor, famous and infamous, politicians and businessmen – could be found within the White Star vessel. Among these people was Major Archibald Butt (pictured to the right). The Major did indeed lose his life when the gargantuan steamer made its final plunge, but his story will not be forgotten.

According to many accounts, the pristine calm ocean gave not even the slightest indication of the tragedy which occurred 14 April, 1912. However, that night, 1523 of the 2228 passengers aboard the RMS Titanic died; of these 1523 people, many died in the water as opposed to aboard the ship.
